SAFETY INITIATIVE:- UPDATE OF APPLICATION STATUS

A quick update regarding our application.  We anticipate City of Tshwane (CoT) to forward our Waterkloof Safety Initiative Application to the Spatial Land Development Tribunal (SLDT) within the current month (October 2019).  The application will most likely appear on the SLDT agenda in January 2020, with a view to us executing the application in March 2020.  This step has taken longer than initially estimated but we are confident of the merits of the application, in terms of the current CoT ordinants, and is justified.

We are also in contact with the consultants and CoT on a weekly basis regarding the submission to the SLDT specifically, and we are positive regarding a successful conclusion.

A separate status update regarding the densification applications we are battling will be sent out shortly.  Please also remember to support the Waterkloof Walkways project.  All of the aforementioned initiatives are executed by volunteers living within the suburb; let’s show them our support.  Any queries on how to become involved, please contact us at contact@safewaterkloof.co.za

Lastly we wish to thank our signed up, contributing stakeholders.  Commitment towards the success of the Waterkloof Safety Initiative is greatly appreciated and living in a safer Waterkloof is indeed one step closer to becoming a reality for all.

Progress 2019-07-26

Hallo Greg and Team,

  1. The full addendum report has been delivered to CoT at Traffic Engineering Department. This included all the comments and requirements he requested as well as the formal letters of support from NG Stella and van Wouw Primary School.
  2. CoT Traffic confirm that the are in receipt ofevertything need letter of support commentary to City Planning Department now.
  3. City Planning are waiting for CoT Traffic comments. They will probably not take more than 2 weeks to complete their report (hopefully by 9 August) and send it off to the SLDT for discussion and approval.
  4. Best case scenario is to be before the SLDT by end of August, or middle September 2019.
  5. Our Engineers have received all the surveyor details and are preparing the Terrain Development Plans as well as the tender documentation. As soon as CoT Traffic final commentary is available. This can be as soon as mid Aug 2019.
  6. We should have the tenders back by end of August. It will also indicate the final amounts needed for phase 2 (construction) and phase 3 (operations).
  7. Advertising for objections will probably take place in September and October 2019. This would put us in a position to start construction in November, should we have your construction money in the bank and no objections are received.
  8. Should we receive objections, the tribunal process may take from November to January, after which construction may start.
