The process is as follows:

  • Assemble street captains for street blocks
  • Hold a public meeting – Aug 2018
  • Collect 70% of the deposit for all the erf (Approx R2000 per erf)
  • Initiate the traffic impact study and prepare application to council (approx 2 months)
  • Council Approval
  • Collect 2nd Deposit
  • Construction bids
  • Construction

Approx time table

  • Get 70% support from residents and payment end June 2018
  • Traffic Impact Study and Application drawn up July/Aug/Sep
  • Application to Council by Dec 2018
  • Permission by Council – ±September/October 2019
  • Construction – ±November 2019
  • Operational – ±December 2019

  • SLDT give principal approval
  • 40 days advertising for objections
  • 58 requirements – way leave approval
  • 2 years re-application
