How does a 12 hour gate work?

A 12 hour gate is operational for a period of 12 hours and consists of a sliding gate which is operated via a missed call to the gate from the users (i.e. participating member’s) cellular phone registered on the database to enter or exit the area. The motorised sliding gate is accessible to contributing residents only. A pedestrian gate, also operational for a period of 12 hours is also located on the side walk, adjacent to the motor vehicle sliding gate and is accessible to all contributing residents, helpers of contributing and non-contributing residents. It is not a manned gate, but will have cameras monitoring the general area. The operational times will be decided by the members and may differ between summer and winter due to daylight times.
